NATURAL STONE VS. ENGINEERED
STONE

Natural stone, such as granite, marble, or quartzite, is quarried directly from the earth and cut into slabs, retaining its unique and varied natural patterns and colors. Engineered stone, like quartz, is a man-made product composed of crushed natural stone mixed with resin and pigments, offering a consistent appearance and enhanced durability due to its engineered composition.

Marble and granite

Marble

Marble is a naturally occurring metamorphic rock composed primarily of calcite, dolomite, or a combination of both, which gives it its distinctive veining and elegant appearance.

Maintenance - It's essential to clean up spills promptly, use coasters under glasses, avoid placing hot items directly on the surface, and regularly seal the marble to protect it from stains and etching, ensuring its longevity and timeless beauty.

Quartz

Quartz is an engineered stone made from a combination of natural quartz crystals and resin binders, producing a non-porous, durable surface that is resistant to scratches, stains, and heat, while offering a wide range of colors and patterns for versatile design options.

Maintenance - Simply clean it with mild soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive pads. Quartz is highly stain-resistant, but it's still advisable to clean up spills promptly. While quartz is heat-resistant, it's best to use trivets or hot pads to protect the surface from extreme heat.

Granite

Granite is an igneous rock composed of predominantly quartz, feldspar, and mica, creating a durable and visually striking material known for its natural beauty and resistance to heat, scratches, and stains.

Maintenance - Regularly clean it with a mild dish soap and water, avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners that can damage the surface, use trivets or hot pads to protect it from hot pans, and consider periodic sealing to enhance its longevity and preserve its exquisite finish.

Quartzite

Quartzite is a natural metamorphic rock formed from sandstone under high heat and pressure, resulting in a hard, durable, and visually stunning material with unique patterns and colors, making it a popular choice for countertops and other interior applications.

Maintenance - It's important to seal it regularly to protect against stains and spills. Clean the surface with a mild soap and water solution, avoiding acidic or abrasive cleaners, and use coasters for glasses and hot pads for hot items to preserve its appearance and longevity.
